FAN CLUB - Information
KMAS Inc., Kate Mulgrew's fan club, shut down in April 2000.
At the time, Ms. Mulgrew and the members of the board of directors were each dealing with a number of personal committments which made it impossible for us to plan club gatherings, attend to correspondence, or offer any of the other amenities which people expect of an official fan club.
Any correspondence for Ms. Mulgrew may be sent to Paramount Pictures:
-
Kate Mulgrew c/o Star Trek Voyager
Paramount Pictures
5555 Melrose Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90038
During the club's existence, much charity work was done in Kate Mulgrew's name for those organizations she is involved with:
-
Incarnation Children's Center (ICC)
Sojourn Center For Women
Starlight Children's Foundation
A $3500 donation was made to ICC after the club dissolved in accordance with the club's bylaws that all assets be donated to a worthy charitable cause. Kate has worked with ICC for many years, and a number of club members have privately supported ICC's work with pediatric AIDS victims by sending donations and attending gala events.
The club also raised more than $500 to support the UCLA Department of English. The club sponsored Kate as a featured guest "reader" at a marathon reading of Charles Dickens' Bleak House on 10 May 1997. Read more about it in Now Voyager #17. KMAS raised over $2100, targeted to ICC, by holding an auction of scripts and autographed photos supplied by Kate. Signed scripts included "Resistance", "Death Wish" and "Maneuvers".
